Viking stirrup mount. Circa 10th century CE. An unusual type, detailed with a stylised bearded face, wearing a helmet with locks of hair protruding from the top. Below the face is an animal headed terminal that protrudes below the fixing points. Copper-alloy, 55mm x 34mm. 26.8g.
